Current Situation

Burundi is located in Eastern Africa, Burundi is bordered by Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Burundi's economy is centered on agriculture, its GDP per capita is very low, and coffee is the source of most of Burundi's income.

(2014) Burundi's remains one of the poorest countries in the world even by African standards, growth is relatively steady but Burundi has a lot of work to do to catch up to other countries, many of Burundi's citizens are still involved in subsistence agriculture and less than 2% of the population have access to bank accounts.
