Current Situation

Ecuador is located in South America, Ecuador is bordered by Colombia and Peru. Ecuador's natural resources include petroleum, timber and gold, it also has many types of agricultural products. Ecuador has decided not to make interest payments on global bonds and stop working with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. The impact of these decisions remains to be seen.

(2013) Following Ecuador's default on its loans in 2008, its main lender has become China, which allowed Ecuador to stay afloat.

(2014) Ecuador's President Rafael Correa won a third term in 2013, this should provide further stability and a good rate of growth for Ecuador's economy.
