Georges de la Trémoille was count of de Guînes, and became Grand Chamberlain to King Charles VII of France. He played an important role during the Hundred Years War. He was captured at the Battle of Agincourt but was released after a short while. He then became a full time member of the King's court, and eventually became one of his favorites, he was opposed to Joan of Arc and was responsible for the failure of her last military campaigns. He was also at odds with Count Arthur de Richemont of Normandy, and coincidently de Richemont would be responsible for the fall from grace of la Trémoille.
