Biography:


Fra Angelico joined the Dominican Order along with his brother in 1407. In the Order he was quickly recognized for his painting skills. His real name was Fra Giovanni, but the other friars nicknamed him Angelico because of his stunning work. Not much is known about Fra Angelico's teachers. He was commissioned to do several paintings in Rome and Florence; notably decorating the covent of San Marco in Florence and doing a few paintings in the Vatican.
