Current Situation

Paraguay is located in South America. Paraguay bordered by Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil. The main export sector is agriculture and Paraguay has been helped by rising food prices. The economy is growing at a steady pace, but Paraguay remains very poor for a South American country.

(2013) Economic growth took a plunge in 2012 all the way into a contraction due to a serious drought.

(2014) Paraguay's economy returned to strong growth in 2013, but it has a long way to go in order to catch up with its neighbours.
